Abstract

Introduction: Mycobacterium tuberculosis in human induce variety response involved protective immunity to clinical manifestation of tuberculosis. Oxidative mechanism to infection controlling not only happened in macrofag but in all liquid compartment of body.
Methods: Aim of this study was to evaluate peroxidative index and advanced oxidation protein products (AOPPs) in saliva tuberculosis patient at treatment periode. Tuberculosis patient grouped based on lenght of treatment, P0=0-1 months, P1=1-3 months,, P2=3-5 months, and P3=5-6 months. Peroxidative index and advanced oxidation protein products (AOPPs) was measured by spectrophotometer.
Results: Peroxidative index and advanced oxidation protein products (AOPPs) at P0 was very high then decrease progresively in P1 and P3 but fluctuative in P2.
Conclusion: Peroxidative index and advanced oxidation protein products (AOPPs) potencial as detector of oxidative mechanism in tuberculosis treatment.
