Background: Respiratory disesase is related to exposure wheat grain dust. Increase consumption of wheat flour will increase activity wheat grain handling at Jetty and wheat Silo in X company in Jakarta. This situation may increased the prevalence of obstructive lung disease.
Objective: The aim of this study is to determine the prevalence of obstructive lung disease, chronic bronchitis, occupational asthma and related factors.
Methods: Design of this study was a cross-sectional analytic study to 146 respondents using questionnaire and spirometry measurement.
Results and Conclusions: No obstructive lung disease was found however there were 19,2% restrictive lung disease, 6,8% history of asthma and 8,2% chronic bronchitis respectively. Multivariat analysis showed that Jetty workplace was a risk factor to chronic bronchitis with p=0,04 and OR 3,80 (1,06-13,52). This place has higher wheat grain dust exposure than Silo. The Lenght of employement was not significantly in bivariat analysis but has increase the risk of chronic bronchitis (OR 2,87 , 95% CI 0,52-18,67)
