Complementary and Alternative Medicine (CAM) in Lung Cancer

Abstract

The role of traditional and alternative medicine nowdays frequently is used as a complement to a standard medicine, nevertheless lack of evidences. Complementary and alternative medicine (CAM) is an alternative therapy besides the regular medicine of cancer. Complementary medicine is part of a conventional medicine while alternative treatment commonly use without a clear evidences and with potentially harmful. Meditation, yoga, and acupuncture were approved reducing symptoms related chemotherapy. Physical exercises could increase the oxygen uptake of the cancer patient. Mistletoe and shark cartilage were not proven to increase overall-survival (OS) in cancer patients. J Respir Indo. 2017; 37: 60-8)
